Betting favorites in National League Cy Young odds

The National League Cy Young award is given to the top pitcher at the end of the season. There are two clear favorites at this point, but there is still a long way to go in the 2026 campaign.

Jacob Misiorowski (-165)

Misiorowski (8-3, 1.45 ERA, 0.75 WHIP) has been dominant so far this season as the ace of a Brewers team that leads the NL Central. He ranks first in the Majors in ERA, WHIP, and strikeouts.

In his last start, Misiorowski gave up two runs after only allowing a total of two runs over his previous eight starts.

Cristopher Sanchez (+240)

Sanchez (9-3, 1.80 ERA, 1.09 WHIP) has been the anchor of a Phillies club that is in second place in the NL East. He ranks second in baseball wins and strikeouts, and third in ERA. Sanchez has allowed more than two runs in only one of his last five starts, and over five starts in May, he did not allow a single run.

Paul Skenes (+1400)

Pirates’ Ace Skenes (6-7, 2.86 ERA, 0.93 WHIP) is the reigning Cy Young winner and has the third-best NL Cy Young odds this season. He ranks fifth in the Majors in WHIP, seventh in strikeouts, and 13th in ERA.

However, the Bucs have lost Skenes' last seven starts. In the first two, he gave up nine runs, but in the last five, he hasn't given up more than three.

Chris Sale (+2200)

Sale (8-5, 2.14 ERA, 1.05 WHIP) ranks fifth in ERA and has been one of the key players for the Braves, who lead the NL East.

Chase Burns (+2800)

Burns (9-1, 2.00 ERA, 1.05 WHIP) has put together a great season so far, but his Reds team is still in the basement of the NL Central. He ranks tied for second in wins, fourth in ERA, and has not given up more than two runs in any of his last 12 starts.

Zack Wheeler (+3000)

Wheeler (7-1, 2.11 ERA, 0.88 WHIP) also pitches for the Phillies and has given up more than two runs in only one of his last eight starts.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto (+3000)

Yamamoto (7-5, 2.65 ERA, 0.87 WHIP) has pitched well for the Dodgers this season and ranks second in the Majors in WHIP and eighth in ERA. He gave up three runs in his last start after only giving up a total of four in the five starts before that.

Sleeper picks to win NL Cy Young award

  • Shohei Ohtani (+4500) – Ohtani (8-2, 1.58 ERA, 0.90 WHIP) is the huge betting favorite to win the MVP and would rank second in the Majors in ERA if he had enough innings to qualify.
  • Kyle Harrison (+4500) – Harrison (8-1, 2.50 ERA, 1.06 WHIP) would rank in the top 10 in ERA and WHIP if he had enough innings to qualify, and he needs a huge second half.

NL Cy Young prediction: Jacob Misiorowski (-165)

It's not difficult to see why we like Misiorowski to win the NL Cy Young. He leads the Majors in strikeouts, ERA, and WHIP, and has been dominant playing for a Brewers team that's leading their division.

There is a lot of baseball left, but before the All-Star break, we are taking the Milwaukee Ace, and with his stats, it's easy to see why he has the best odds to win the NL Cy Young award.
