NFL Coach of the Year Odds: Now With Giants, Can Harbaugh Win Again?

NFL Coach of the Year Odds: Now With Giants, Can Harbaugh Win Again?

Summer is in full swing, and with the NFL season still months away, now is the time to review NFL futures to get the best odds for your favorite picks. One popular futures bet at online sportsbooks is the odds to win Coach of the Year.

Mike Vrabel won Coach of the Year last season, leading the New England Patriots to the Super Bowl, but following that success, it's no surprise he now has the worst odds to win the award this season.

At BetMGM Sportsbook, the new head coach of the New York Giants, John Harbaugh, has the best betting odds to win the NFL Coach of the Year at +550.

Five of the six coaches with the shortest odds are in their first year with their team. After Harbaugh, Baltimore Ravens’ Jesse Minter (+600), Tennessee Titans’ Robert Saleh (+1000), Buffalo Bills’ Joe Brady (+1100), New Orleans Saints’ Kellen Moore (+1000), and Pittsburgh Steelers’ Mike McCarthy (+1400) sit atop NFL Coach of the Year odds.

Betting favorites to win NFL Coach of the Year award

Led by Harbaugh, who spent 18 years coaching the Baltimore Ravens, we break down the offseason leaders in odds to win the NFL Coach of the Year.

John Harbaugh (+550)

Harbaugh is back on the sidelines after his long tenure in Baltimore, which included a Super Bowl ring. He won Coach of the Year in 2019 and inherits a Giants’ team that has young talent in quarterback Jaxson Dart and wide receiver Malik Nabers, and some good players on defense. Harbaugh has to deal with some offensive line issues and hopes to turn around a team that won four games last season and lost seven one-score games.

Jesse Minter (+600)

The new Ravens head coach needs two-time MVP Lamar Jackson to rebound from an injury-marred season and for veteran running back Derrick Henry to keep racking up the yards. Baltimore lost some key players in the offseason, but picked up star linebacker Trey Hendrickson, and the team has one of the easier schedules.

Robert Saleh (+1000)

Saleh looks to turn around the Titans, which he was not able to do with the New York Jets. Tennessee also brought in ex-Giants head coach Brian Daboll to take over the offense and groom second-year quarterback Cam Ward. However, there are still many issues for a team that ranked 30th in scoring and 28th in opponent scoring last season.

Joe Brady (+1100)

Brady comes into a good situation in Buffalo, where it is Super Bowl or bust. He has a solid team led by 2024 MVP Josh Allen, who has the best odds to win NFL MVP this season, and Buffalo has to be elite for Brady to win Coach of the Year.

Kellen Moore (+1100)

The Saints won four of their last five games last season, and there is hope in the Big Easy.

They have an emerging young quarterback in Tyler Shough, the defense was great to end the year, they play in one of the weaker divisions, and have one of the easiest schedules. Moore could find success and surprise some critics in 2026.

Mike McCarthy (+1400)

McCarthy is taking the helm for his third team in the Steelers, and much of the season relies on whether Aaron Rodgers can regain his past form at age 42. It seems unlikely for Rodgers, McCarthy, and Pittsburgh to have much success this season.

NFL Coach of the Year sleeper picks

  • Jim Harbaugh (+1800) – Is this the year that the Los Angeles Chargers live up to expectations with star quarterback Justin Herbert and a talented team?
  • Dan Quinn (+4000) – Can the Washington Commanders make another magical run as they did in 2024 when Jayden Daniels, who missed many games last season, led them to the NFC title game?

PlayerBest prediction: Kellen Moore (+1100)

The Saints finished strong last season under Moore, and the team will build on that. New Orleans has young talent on both sides of the ball, including rookie receiver Jordyn Tyson (+600 in Offensive Rookie of the Year odds), and plays one of the easiest schedules.

The NFC South is up for grabs, and Moore will guide them to the division title and win the Coach of the Year in the process.
