This weekend’s list of Premier League fixtures is throwing up a couple of classics but one that may have slipped by some people is the potential for a quality match between Brighton and Man City.
Brighton are enjoying one of their most successful starts to a Premier League season in the club’s history while City are also starting to play the football we have come to expect from them under Pep Guardiola. My Premier League betting tips for this weekend are going to be a tough one.
Brighton’s roaring start to the season has been halted somewhat by 3 consecutive draws in the league. Mind you, the Seagulls still found themselves sitting in a phenomenal 5th place on the log, in what is arguably one of the most competitive Premier League seasons in terms of squad depth to date. If Brighton can knock over Pep’s Manchester City on Saturday it would be a real sign of intent for Graham Potter’s side. This will be no easy task though as City seem to really be hitting form.
A few weeks back, City had their sternest test yet in a week long period that saw them take on European Champions Chelsea, French giants PSG and Liverpool at Anfield. They walked away from these games with only a loss to PSG and 4 points from their 2 games against Chelsea and Liverpool. Since then, City have gone from strength to strength beating Burnley and hammering Club Brugge in the UCL. It’s difficult to see how Brighton will be able to knock this City side over but one thing is for sure, this is going to be a cracking fixture.
As you might imagine, the head to head record does not make for pretty reading if you are a Brighton fan. Since Brighton’s return to the league in 2017, they have lost 8 out of 9 games against City. A glimmer of hope remains though as the most recent fixture these 2 teams played out resulted in a 3-2 win for the Seagulls.
Statistical highlights are what allow me to make my accurate prediction for these Premier League fixtures. My Premier League betting tips UK were informed largely by the statistical highlights I have provided for you below.
Quite frankly, this fixture could go either way. This is obviously the magic of the Premier League. With that being said, you would be hard pressed not to bet on City here. They are simply in delicious form right now and I just can’t see this Brighton back 4 living with them. I’m going for a City win by 2.5 goals or more.
City have just come out of what will be one of their toughest weeks in the season and they did so with flying colors, barring a slip up against PSG. Pep has got his players moving to the rhythm of his coaching style again and the football has been nothing short of dynamic, fluid and down right lovely to watch. For the punters looking to take a stab at this one, you would do well to put your money on the men from the light blue side of Manchester.
It’s not all doom and gloom for the Seagulls though, as they have looked fantastic going forward. They have lacked a decisive edge in the final third though, as we saw in their fixture against the Gunners. If Neal Muapay and co can find their killer instinct, this fixture may prove to be a thorn in City’s side.
