As the buzz around online gambling and sports betting in Canada continues to grow, there are more online operators who are looking to throw their names into the hat to become the latest platform to provide a gambling service in the Great White North. The newest addition to this list is potentially going to be Rivalry.
Rivalry is a large sports betting and media outlet that also provides its users with eSports betting, casino gaming and live dealer games. They have quickly become one of the household names in the gambling industries of several different countries and are now hoping to expand their reach into Ontario, Canada. They will first need to have their iGaming license accepted by the Gaming Commission of Ontario but the process is now well and truly underway.
Rivalry have submitted their iGaming application to iGaming Ontario and are now having to wait as the entity reviews and assesses the online gambling operator. This process will take some time as the regulations are fairly strict. The process is apparently near to being completed as Rivalry are already preparing to launch their platform with eSports, sports betting and casino gaming in the Province. Realistically, the timeline will only allow Rivalry to launch their platform in the first half of 2022.
CEO of Rivalry, Steven Salz has heaped praise on the Ontario Government for how swiftly and efficiently they have dealt with the iGaming applications in the province. He is confident that with the way the process is handled, iGaming fans in Ontario will see just how safe and well regulated online gambling platforms are in the Province. And while he praised the efficiency with which these applications are dealt with, there are also no shortcuts in the process either which should give iGaming fans more confidence to be able to freely sign up to a platform of Rivalry’s caliber.
