Michael Bradley has been a stalwart in the US national side over many years but he has also become a legend in his own right at Toronto FC as well. Bradley recently made his 250th appearance for the Canadian MLS side. While some feared he may be coming to the end of his time in Toronto, Bradley was quick to allay these fears at the end of the game saying that he was “not going anywhere”.
If anything, Michael Bradley is hungrier than he has ever been. He still loves coming into training everyday, competing at the highest level and loves coming into work for the club he loves. Bradley noted that the COVID fallout has hit the club and all other MLS clubs very hard but that there is an opportunity for Toronto FC to fine tune their skills and head into the off-season with the right mentality. Bradley is hoping that his side will make the most of the off-season to prepare for what will be a very tough upcoming season. Toronto FC underperformed this season as they finished in the bottom 2 of the Eastern Conference.
While he has made 250 appearances for Toronto FC already, it would appear that Michael Bradley has no intention of slowing down. Big names like Jermaine Defoe have come and gone from the Toronto FC side but Michael Bradley has remained and continues to be the rock that the club needs.
At 34-years of age though, the question arises about how much longer Bradley can keep this up at such a high level. According to Bradley, he knows that he is certainly closer to the end now than he is to the beginning but that won’t stop him from training the right way, living the right way and doing everything he can to try and make sure that he remains at the top of his game for years to come.
