Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe Hotel & Casino has officially opened, marking the completion of the latest phase of a $200 million renovation project.
The casino, formerly Harveys Lake Tahoe, opened its doors this week with a ceremony, party, and rock ‘n roll entertainment.
It comes with renovated rooms, a new bar and lounge, and an overhauled gaming floor. The new development comes in the middle of summer as the World Series of Poker plays out 450 miles away on the other side of Nevada.

Caesars Republic is old-school gambling 'through a forward lens'
The new Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe Hotel-Casino project was slated for completion this summer, and developers have met that deadline.
“With Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe, we set out to create something truly distinctive for this market,” said Anthony Carano, Caesars Entertainment president and Chief Operating Officer. “[It is] an experience that blends the natural beauty of the Sierra Nevada with the energy and innovation our guests expect.
“The grand opening represents the realization of that vision and the beginning of an exciting new era for Lake Tahoe.”
750 slots across 88,000 square feet
Revamping the gaming floor at Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe was key to the Phase 2 renovations.
The casino now boasts 750 slot machines, centered around a new bar (Tessie’s), which Caesars says will “capture the heartbeat of Tahoe.”
Big-name slots include IGT's Cleopatra, plus hundreds of jackpot games with linked payouts.
Key online progressives include the $1 million Dragon Link slot from Aristocrat. It’s similar to some of the top progressives at Caesars Online Casino, where you can win million-dollar prizes. However, with online casinos currently outlawed in Nevada, this is the best way to get your hands on a life-changing payout.
Caesars Rewards lets you earn as you play
Caesars Republic also forms part of the rewards network that lets you earn points when you play. The Caesars Rewards program gives you access to lower room rates, meal credits, and free play.
Additionally, you can place bets in the renovated sportsbook on site. Retail sports betting is alive and well in Nevada, with state regulators keen to protect the industry from prediction markets.
According to recent figures, Nevada casinos made over $30 billion in total revenue for the last financial year. The total was down over 34% year over year, something Caesars will be hoping to remedy with its newly renovated casino.
