If the Raiders can win in Vegas they make it into the playoffs. A feat many thought impossible just a few weeks back.

Los Angeles is a three point road favorite vs. Las Vegas and it’s surely earned after they beat them 28-14 during a Monday Night Football game. Since then it’s been up to the Raiders core of Derek Carr, Josh Jacobs, Hunter Henry, and Darren Waller to hold the team together while things fell apart around them. Coach John Gruden was forced to quit after emails leaked that were unfavorable to say the least, wide receiver Henry Rugs III was let go after his car crashed into and killed another person while he was drunk behind the wheel. Finally, their rookie corner was arrested for a DUI. No one thought this team would have a chance to make playoffs, but a three game win streak has the Raiders only one win away from a wild card spot.
The Chargers look like a different team depending on what week you watch them play. After beating the Bengals 41-22 many thought this was team that could make a playoff run. Only a couple weeks later the Bolts would get embarrassed by the Texans 41-29. Their defense chooses when they want to show up, and hopes the offense can outscore opponents when they don’t.
Still, Los Angeles is a better team than the Raiders any way you slice it. Not to mention they have a coach who doesn’t shy away from tough decisions when the game is on the line. Take the Chargers to win both straight up and to cover the three points.
49.5 is relatively high spread and it seems the odds makers and fans alike expect a shootout. Historically this hasn’t been the case though. Over these two team’s last ten meetings the over has only hit three times. Both of these teams and coaching staffs know each other well. There’s a playoff game on the line. Look for the defenses to dig in and make this a stressful four quarters of playoff atmosphere football.
Hunter Renfrow has been the last man standing with Ruggs out and Waller injured for a good chunk of the season. He’s made the most of his opportunities and has become Carr’s primary target when it counts. Over the last four games Renfrow has three touchdowns, take him to get his fourth in this one.
Los Angeles Chargers’ running back Austin Ekeler has played in fifteen games this season. In nine of them he’s gone over 39.5 receiving yards and 3 receptions. If you think the Chargers are going to be effective moving the ball in this game it will be in part because of Ekeler out of the backfield.
