The end of November was filled with great basketball and even better upsets. Duke upset Gonzaga to be the number one rated team in the AP Poll. Less than a week later Duke has now been dethroned by an unranked four and two Ohio State team (71-66).Β As long as #2 Purdue can beat a solid Iowa team they should be the new number one after this weekend. Keep choosing the upsets by reviewing the basketball betting tips tool to help maximize your winnings.
Michigan and North Carolina both have similar records. The Wolverines are four and two, with their two losses coming from now ranked #17 Arizona and #25 Seton Hall. On the other hand, North Carolina has only lost to #2 Purdue and #13 Tennessee. The Tar Heels will be playing at home and they have looked better on the court vs. all of their opponents, unlike Michigan. Go for the Tar Heels in both spread and money line.
Madison and Milwaukee are only about 80 miles away from each other in the state of Wisconsin. This game will be played in Madison, but will have a lot of people traveling and rooting on their teams. In general these types of games can have surprising results. Marquette is the heavy underdogs, despite their 7-1 record & only losing to St. Bonaventure. The Golden Eagles have however beaten then ranked #10 Illinois, while also beating Ole Miss and West Virginia. Marquette is unranked but has enough AP Poll votes that they are essentially ranked #34th, and can easily pull the upset. At least go for Marquette with the spread, but having the Golden Eagles take the win will win you more money.
Alabama and Gonzaga will battle in Seattle and start a three game stretch for Alabama that could have them ranked in the Top 5 or drop out of the ranks for weeks. Bama will have to play #15 Houston Cougars and #18 Memphis Tigers immediately after they tip off with #3 Gonzaga. Alabama will have a tough test playing a Gonzaga team that has only lost to an elite Duke squad. Alabama themselves are a great team, they have only lost to Iona lead by Rick Pitino (2013 elected hall of fame coach). After Saban has led Bama to many football championships, it is always fun to root against the Crimson Tide and put money on the Zags.
The Aztecs might be one of the best defensive teams holding all of their opponents to 66 points or fewer. The Aztecs have two losses, but only to #12 BYU and #20 USC, however they did hold their grounds against these teams. Michigan on the other hand, has only lost to Arizona and Seton Hall, however they have not beat anyone of significance so far this year. Before Michigan loses to North Carolina, take the Aztecs on both points and spread for the upset in Ann Arbor.
Toledo Rockets at #22 Michigan State Spartans
Toledo has only one loss to a surprisingly good Oakland team, and just beat Northwestern Ohio 106-36!
Texas Tech Red Raiders vs. #13 Tennessee Volunteers
This game will be played in New York and undefeated Texas Tech will get to test their skills against a Tennessee team that has only lost to #6 Villanova.
Creighton Bluejays vs. #19 Iowa State Cyclones
Creighton has only lost to an undefeated Colorado State squad and will play at home against an undefeated Iowa St. team.
