Furthermore, #20 Colorado State has now dropped out of the AP poll after getting destroyed by a solid San Diego State team 79-49.

#21 Texas Longhorns at #15 Iowa State Cyclones
Texas is coming off an upset to the eight and six Oklahoma State Cowboys. That dropped the Longhorns 14 points in the AP Poll. Iowa State was also upset, but by the other big Oklahoma school, the Sooners. Iowa State started off the season on fire with a 12 game winning streak, but since 2021 they have only won a single game (out of four). They also fell to #1 Baylor and now #9 Kansas. In the weird winning Bermuda triangle, they beat #19 Texas Tech. To complete said triangle, Texas Tech just upset both Baylor and Kansas this week. These two teams have almost identical stats: including shooting exactly 70.4 points per game, 9.1 (Texas) and 9.4 (ISU) steals a game, and 14.3 & 14.5 assists a game respectively. Choose the Longhorns for the spread since the game is close to a toss up.
#22 Tennessee Volunteers at #18 Kentucky Wildcats
The Southeastern Conference (SEC) is not the same powerhouse as they are in football. Auburn and LSU have been surprisingly good teams this year, but the rest of the conference has looked decent (Miss State/Alabama) to bad on the court (Georgia/Misouri). Tennessee does have an impressive win against #6 Arizona, but both Tennessee and Kentucky have soft schedules. That is the SEC way in both football and basketball, play soft schedules and get good records. Except for when those teams have to play in-conference, then records get pedestrian. Take the more proven Volunteers team over the overhyped Wildcats.
BYU Cougars at #2 Gonzaga Bulldogs
Brigham Young University will get their chance to take down a top dog (Bulldog to be exact), as they will go up against Gonzaga in Washington. BYU is ranked 30th in NET (essentially winning percentage, opponents winning percentage, and average winning percentage combined), Gonzaga on the other hand is ranked 5th. This matchup plays out similar to a March Madness #1 Gonzaga seeding vs. #8 BYU, but on Gonzaga’s home court. Somehow Gonzaga has only played at home or on a neutral court so far this entire year through 15 games, until next week when they play Santa Clara. Go for BYU’s spread at +13.5, but Gonzaga to win.
