Two 7-7 teams fight to keep their playoffs dreams a reality as the Miami Dolphins hit the road to take on the New Orleans Saints for the Week 16 edition of Monday Night Football. We’re here get you all of the information necessary on the game’s spread, point total, and props like anytime touchdown scorer. It’s been a wild few weeks in the professional sports world so now more than ever it’s important to keep up to date with the latest sports and betting news . The lines on this game’s spread swung dramatically on news that the Saints would be without quarterbacks Taysom Hill and Trevor Siemian. The Saints were originally favored by three in this contest and now they are three and half point underdogs. Fourth round rookie Ian Book will be taking snaps for New Orleans on Monday Night for his first ever starts in the NFL. He’ll try his best to beat a team that hasn’t lost a game since October.
Lucky for him, the Saints are used to winning games with their defense. In most NFL games over the last decade scoring nine points would result in a loss, especially when facing a Tom Brady led team. However, the Saints put up nine and won when they shut out the Bucs 9-0 last week. So there’s always the chance for another herculean defensive effort and an offense that performs proficient at best.
I wouldn’t buy into that narrative though and instead I’m looking for the Miami Dolphins to extend their win streak to seven while also covering this spread. They have a top defense who has gotten better as the season has progressed. The Dolphins D leads the NFL with 25 sacks since Week 9 and will likely fluster a rookie QB. Jaylen Waddle, their top wideout is back on the field which only adds to their offense. The Dolphins should win this one handily.

To no ones surprise the total in this game has come down quite a bit to 37.5 points. I still like the under even when it’s this low. The Saints offense has struggled against good defenses all year even when they’ve had competent, experienced QBs in the backfield. For as much has been made about the Dolphins win streak the only decent team they beat out of those six wins was the Ravens. The other five was the Jets twice, Texans, Panthers, and Giants. They will struggle against a Saints defense which is of a quality they haven’t seen in months.
Take the under here and don’t expect a high scoring or honestly exciting Monday Night Football game.
Tua won’t be able to stretch the ball downfield against the Saints D. Gesicki has emerged this year as a top tight end in the league and that trend should continue here. Look for him to get into the endzone even if touchdowns will be at a premium in this game.
Kamara will be in for a heavy work load tonight as the Saints will need to lean on the running game. The Dolphins will undoubtedly look to stack the box, but Kamara is a good enough back to break out against it.
