The Nets take on the Nuggets in Denver and will look to get off of their 7 game losing streak. James Harden is still questionable after dealing with a hand injury in recent weeks and questions are starting to pop up that Harden may be forcing his way out of Brooklyn.
Harden hasn’t looked as happy in Brooklyn this season and you have to wonder if the absences from Irving are starting to get to him. The Sixers are led by Rockets former GM Daryl Morey and you know he would love to make a deal for Harden in a Ben Simmons swap. If the Nets can get Simmons plus other impact players it may be something they should consider. With a healthy Kevin Durant, Irving, Simmons, and a deeper bench the Nets may be an even better team. Kyrie will look to help snap the Nets 7 game losing streak
The Nets are heavy favorites in Denver as it looks like Harden will be active for Sunday’s matchup after missing the last few games with a hand injury. With Harden and Irving active the Nets are still one of the most explosive teams in the league. The Nuggets have struggled with inconsistency this year and will look to get a big win against the Nets and head into the All-Star break with some momentum. The West is loaded at the top of the conference but then it appears there are about 10 teams that will be fighting for the last 4 spots. The Nuggets have the talent to be the 4 or 5 seed but if they don’t get more consistent they could be fighting to get into the playoffs this year.
The Nets are the favorites to win the first half but I think it may take them some time to get out of their funk and I like the Nuggets to lead the game heading into halftime. I think the Nets ultimately win the game but the Nuggets seem like a good risk-reward play to take in the first half based on how bad the Nets have been playing as of late.

The Bulls have been one of the biggest surprises in the NBA this year
The Sixers and Bulls are two of the biggest surprises in the NBA this year and their matchup could be an early-season Eastern Conference Finals preview. With the Nets banged up I wouldn’t be shocked to see younger teams like the Bulls or Sixers pull off a playoff upset over the Nets and breakthrough to the finals and this could be a big year for both teams come playoff time. Joel Embiid has been dominant over the last couple of months since he returned from his early-season Covid absence and is one of the favorites to win the MVP.
The Sixers have a big trade chip in Ben Simmons and their roster could get even better if they decide to move Simmons in the next couple of weeks. The Bulls have one of the most exciting teams to watch in the NBA and they have been leading the Eastern Conference standings for nearly a month. Lonzo Ball and Zach Lavine like to push the pace and DeMar DeRozan is having a career year for the Bulls.
The Sixers are the road favorites in this matchup but I like the Bulls chances to pull off the win at home where they have played extremely well. The Bulls fans have been hungry for a contender since the late 1990s and finally have the roster and coach to compete night in and night out after a 2-decade drought.
Embiid and DeRozan seem like they would have the best odds to get the first points of the game as the Sixers will likely try to slow the game down and set the pace by feeding Embiid in the paint and the Bulls like to run their offense through DeRozan. After being a 2nd option for most of his career DeRozan is finally the top scoring option and he has thrived in that role.
