If you haven’t been paying attention to the NBA action this year you are missing out as we have a very balanced league with no clear-cut favorite to win it all almost midway through the season. Evan Moley has been the most impressive rookie so far averaging 14 PPG and 8 rebounds out of the gate and making a big impact on the contending Cavs roster. Scottie Barnes is also having a monster rookie year with the Raptors and is averaging 15 PPG and has the Raptors once again relevant in the Eastern Conference.

The Grizzlies are legit competitors in the West
The Lakers have been playing well over the last few weeks thanks in big part to the emergence of Malik Monk. Monk is averaging close to 20 points a game in his last 10 games and has given this older Lakers roster a boost with his athleticism. Anthony Davis is out with a knee injury for another few weeks and you have to wonder if the Lakers will consider trading Davis before the all-star break. With Davis out of the lineup, the Lakers have been playing much better in an NBA that is playing at a much faster pace than previous years.
Cavs vs. Warriors
The Warriors are favorites to win the West this year
The Cavs are one of the big surprises in the NBA this year and you have to wonder if Lebron James would head back to Cleveland after this season if the Lakers miss the playoffs. The Cavs are young, have depth, and are very fun to watch and should compete for years to come in the East. The Warriors have done a great job reshaping their roster over the last few years and young players like Andrew Wiggins and Jordan Poole have played a big role in helping the Warriors get back to being one of the top teams in the league.
