You can be on futures throughout the MLB season, and one of the most popular markets is the NL MVP odds.
At DraftKings Sportsbook, two-time reigning MVP Shohei Ohtani (-1000) is a major favorite to claim the National League MVP award once again.
After Ohtani, the next five players with the shortest NL MVP Odds are Kyle Schwarber (+1800), Corbin Carroll (+2800), Juan Soto (+3000), Bryce Harper (+4000), and Matt Olson (+4500).

Betting favorites to win the National League MVP
Ohtani is the clear favorite as we approach the midpoint of the MLB season. You would need to bet $1,000 on the two-way Dodger to earn $100 in profit.
There's plenty of value lower on the board if you expect Ohtani to unravel in the second half.
Shohei Ohtani (-1000)
Ohtani (.301, 11 home runs, 37 RBIs) is the massive favorite, but his home run and RBI numbers are down. However, he is back as a full-time starting pitcher and is 6-2 with 64 strikeouts in 61 innings, with a minuscule ERA of 0.74. If he had enough innings pitched to qualify, he would lead the Majors in ERA.
Kyle Schwarber (+1800)
Phillies designated hitter Kyle Schwarber (.235, 23 home runs, 40 RBIs) currently leads MLB in home runs and plays for a club in the playoff race.
While he has the second-shortest NL MVP odds, his batting average is less than stellar, he's tied for 25th in RBIs, and Ohtani is the only other DH to win the award.
Corbin Carroll (+2800)
Arizona Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll (.283, 11 home runs, 33 RBIs) is third in NL MVP odds, but his numbers are not as impressive as the names mentioned above. MLB.com ranks him as the third-best right fielder in the National League.
Juan Soto (+3000)
Soto (.276, 13 home runs, 30 RBIs) finished third in MVP voting last season. His power numbers are down, and he currently plays on a New York Mets team that is in the basement of the NL East.
Bryce Harper (+4000)
Harper (.263, 14 home runs, 37 RBIs) has won the NL MVP twice, back in 2015 and 2021. His numbers are not great but solid, and he is good in the field. Still, like others that are in the “favorites” category, he needs a huge second half to improve his NL MVP odds.
Matt Olson (+4500)
I would think Olson (.271, 19 home runs, 50 RBIs) would have better odds to win the NL MVP at this point in the season. He ranks top-4 in baseball in home runs and RBIs, has been consistent all season, and is the leader of a Braves team that currently has the best MLB record.
NL MVP odds: Sleeper picks
With Ohtani being a massive favorite to win the award for the third straight season, pretty much every player after him is a sleeper.
- Matt Olson (+4500) – If Ohtani tails off or gets injured and Olson continues to put up big numbers, he can win the award.
- Juan Soto (+3000) – Soto is in the same boat as Olson, but needs to have a monster second half.
Best bet to win NL MVP: Shohei Ohtani (-1000)
I have to go with the massive favorite at online sportsbooks here. The home run and RBI numbers are down, but he will likely raise those as the season goes on, and he has been dominant on the mound.
We're taking Ohtani as he is the only player in baseball who can dominate a game at the plate, on the mound, or both.
