Betting favorites to win NFL Comeback Player of the Year
Of the players with the best odds to win Comeback Player of the Year, four of them, including the top three, are quarterbacks.
Patrick Mahomes (+185)
The two-time MVP winner went down with a knee injury late in the season and hopes to play in Week 1. When he went down, Mahomes was ranked sixth in the league in QBR, but did not rank in the top 11 in passing yards or touchdowns.
Jayden Daniels (+400)
There is a reason for the phrase “sophomore slump.” Daniels went through one last season, missing nine games due to various injuries. He looks to forget that and build on his first season, where he was named Offensive Rookie of the Year.
Kyler Murray (+550)
Murry is an interesting case, as he is not only coming back from an injury-marred season, but is also with a new team. He has to beat out Vikings incumbent QB J.J. McCarty, who is at +5000 to win the Comeback Player of the Year award at DraftKings. Murray has not played in more than 11 games in three of the last four seasons. He hasn't seen the field in 8+ games in two of the last three.
Micah Parsons (+1200)
Parsons was having a great first season with the Packers, with 12.5 sacks before going down with a knee injury in the 14th game. He may miss the first few games of the season recovering from an ACL tear, which will hurt his numbers.
Malik Nabers (+1300)
Nabers only played in four games last season due to a knee injury. He had another surgery in May for a cleanup procedure, but hopes to be ready for Week 1. Nabers looks to build on his great rookie season from two years ago, when he had over 1,200 receiving yards and seven touchdowns.
Daniel Jones (+2200)
Jones looked like a shoo-in to win the Comeback Player of the Year last season in his first campaign with the Colts. He went down with a torn Achilles tendon late in the year. While he has started 7-on-7 drills, it remains to be seen whether he will be ready for the season opener.
NFL Comeback Player of the Year: Sleeper picks
- Nick Bosa – Bosa had two sacks in three games last season before going down with a knee injury. In the previous four seasons, he averaged 13.4 sacks, even after missing three games in 2024.
- Travis Hunter – He only played seven games last season before going down with an injury, but the No. 2 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft is uber-talented on both sides of the ball.
PlayersBets prediction: Patrick Mahomes (+185)
I would like to go with Daniels as a Commanders fan, and I think he will bounce back and have a solid season, but I can’t pick him over Mahomes. The Chiefs have wide receiver issues, and Travis Kelce is no longer a spring chicken, but Mahomes is one of the best to ever lace them up and will come back with a vengeance.
Mahomes usually puts up terrific numbers, and he's the most talented player listed in offseason odds to win Comeback Player of the Year. The Chiefs QB will play great again and not only win that award but also feature prominently in NFL MVP odds during another successful campaign.
