Super Bowl betting favorites

The Rams dropped the NFC Championship game, 31-27, to the eventual champion Seahawks, and oddsmakers at online sportsbooks are forecasting successful campaigns for both teams next season, which begins on Sept. 9.

The Seahawks host the Rams in a highly anticipated rematch on Christmas Day, a game that could preview another NFC playoff shootout.

Los Angeles Rams, +600

The Rams jumped from +800 to +600 following the acquisition of seven-time Pro Bowl defensive end Myles Garrett from the Cleveland Browns on June 1. Los Angeles now has a 14.3% implied probability of winning the NFL championship in 2027. A $100 bet would net $600 in profit for a total return of $700.

After allowing 327.5 yards per game in 2025 (17th fewest in the league), the Rams bolstered their defense in a big way this offseason. Los Angeles acquired Garrett, the 2025 Defensive Player of the Year, for Jared Verse and three draft picks. They also added Trent McDuffie and cornerback Jaylen Watson from the Chiefs, and re-signed safety Kam Curl.

In the draft, the Rams focused on offense, surprising the football world, with the 13th overall selection of Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson. Tight end Max Klare of Ohio State was also drafted in the second round.

Baltimore Ravens, +1000

After 18 seasons with the team, Baltimore fired head coach John Harbaugh following a disappointing 2025 campaign. He was replaced by Jesse Minter, the Los Angeles Chargers' former defensive coordinator (2024-25).

The Ravens nixed a widely-publicized and massive trade for Las Vegas Raiders' Maxx Crosby early in the offseason over concerns surrounding his injured knee. The move would've altered their franchise and put fear in offenses across the AFC, but Baltimore quickly pivoted, signing four-time Pro Bowler Trey Hendrickson to a four-year, $112 million contract.

Baltimore also signed defensive lineman Calais Campbell and safety Jaylinn Hawkins to help bolster a unit that ranked near the bottom of the pack in total team defense.

If Baltimore can return to its typical standing as a defensive powerhouse in the AFC North, it should provide value at +1000 when paired with an elite offense led by quarterback Lamar Jackson and running back Derrick Henry.

Seattle Seahawks, +1100

The NFL champs lost Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III in free agency to the Kansas City Chiefs, but Sam Darnold and the Seahawks will look to repeat next season.

Seattle replaced Walker in the draft with its first-round selection of Notre Dame running back Jadarian Price (32nd overall). It also re-signed superstar wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba to a four-year, $168.8 million extension to make him the highest-paid receiver in NFL history. JSN won Offensive Player of the Year in 2025, leading the league with 1,793 receiving yards.

The Seahawks also extended Rashid Shaeed (three years, $51 million) and cornerback Josh Jobe.

Relying on the strength of its defense, which limited opponents to the fewest points per game (17.2) in 2025, Seattle deserves its spot near the top of Super Bowl 61 odds.

NFL Super Bowl sleeper picks

If you're looking for extra value or long shots with potential to win it all, here are a few teams to consider:

  • New England Patriots (+1600): The defending AFC champions won four games in 2023 and 2024 before MVP candidate Drake Maye led them to 14 victories in 2025. With the addition of star wideout A.J. Brown, we expect the Pats to pick up where they left off following a trip to the Super Bowl.
  • Green Bay Packers (+1700): After landing Micah Parsons from the Dallas Cowboys last summer, the Packers appeared poised to take the next step before the All-Pro edge rusher suffered an ACL tear. They dropped a Wild Card game against the Chicago Bears, but look ready to rebound with a less crowded wide receiver room and offense led by quarterback Jordan Love. Parsons is fourth in NFL Comeback Player of the Year odds.
  • Detroit Lions (+1900): One of the most surprising teams to miss the 2025 playoffs, Detroit was plagued by season-ending injuries to a few key players. Led by Jared Goff, Amon-Ra St. Brown, and Jahmyr Gibbs (+750 in Offensive Players of the Year odds), the Lions have one of the most dynamic offenses in the NFL and should get back into contention if they can stay healthy this season.

NFL Super Bowl prediction: Rams, +600

Los Angeles was already sitting atop the odds to win Super Bowl 61 before acquiring the superstar defender Garrett. Their defense is elite on paper, and head coach Sean McVay is among the league's best.

With a stacked offense led by 2025 NFL MVP Matthew Stafford (now +1400 in NFL MVP odds), a top receiving duo in Puka Nacua and Davante Adams, plus a balanced rush attack led by Kyren Williams and Blake Corum, the Rams look ready to win the 2027 Super Bowl on home turf at SoFi Stadium.
