Big time comeback

Habs vs. Sabres Game 6 betting analysis

The Sabres lost Game 5 at home, but this postseason, they have been better on the road (4-1) than at home (2-4). They have won two games on the road in this series and need another W to force a Game 7 on home ice.

Defensive woes and goalie issues plague Buffalo

Buffalo is on the brink of elimination, and the main reason is its defense. In their first-round series win over the Boston Bruins, the Sabres allowed only 12 goals in six games. They have allowed 21 goals in five games in this series and 19 in the last four games.

The Sabres need to shore up their play in between the pipes to force a Game 7. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen (2-2, 4.20 GAA, .851 save %) started Game 5 and gave up five goals before being yanked after the second period. He was replaced by Alex Lyon (4-3, 2.25 GAA, .917 save %). Lyon gave up one goal, and in his last two starts in the series, both losses, he has given up a total of nine goals.

Jakub Dobes (7-5, 2.28 GAA, .914 save %) has started every playoff game for Montreal and has given up three goals in each of the last two games.

Sabres facing offensive problems as well

After scoring four goals in a Game 1 win, the Sabres have only totaled nine goals in the last four games. Alex Tuch ranked second on the team in goals this season (33) and second in points (66), but has failed to register a point in the five games in this series. Can the Buffalo attack get it going to mask a struggling defense? Big question.

Canadiens must continue pressure

The Canadiens have to keep up the attack to close out the series. In their three wins, they have totaled 17 goals. Alex Newhook leads the team in the playoffs with six goals, with five coming in three games before the last one, where he did not light the lamp but had an assist.

Montreal's Cole Caufield had the second-most goals in the NHL this season (51) and has a goal in each of the last three games.

PlayersBest prediction: Canadians moneyline (-155)

The Canadians lost to the Sabres in their last home game, but with a chance to close out the series, they will secure the win.

Buffalo’s defense has been lit up in three of the five games in this series, and they have issues between the pipes. The Sabres gave up six goals in the last game, and they will not shore up their defense in this one.

The Buffalo attack hasn't been bad, with three goals in each of the last two games. However, scoring three goals will not cut it, given that their defense has been a major issue.

The Canadians will get it done, yet again, on the attack, and this is the main reason they will win Game 6 and advance to the Eastern Conference Finals.
