The Rams will win Super Bowl LVI because of their defensive prowess.
The Rams made it to the Super Bowl after they beat the Arizona Cardinals 34-11. Odell Beckham Jr. threw a 40 yard pass to Cam Akers. Los Angeles’ defense also secured their win with two interceptions and a touchdown, embarrassing Kyler Murray the whole game. Next, they traveled to Tampa Bay and did something that not many teams have ever done, beat Tom Brady in the playoffs. Three Sacks, two turnovers in play, and two turnovers on downs helped win against the Bucs 30-27.
But it was their close win against divisional rival San Francisco 20-17 that secured their Super Bowl berth. Kupp caught eleven passes for 142 yards and two touchdowns, definitely winning the game ball in this NFC Championship match. If the 49ers had a better quarterback, this game could of went the Niners’ way, but Garoppolo threw his first interception to end the game with a minute and nineteen seconds left, letting the Rams kneel to get the big win.
The Rams will be getting their rings and will go down in football royalty with a win against a streaky Bengals squad who got a little help from the Raiders’ ineptitude , Tannehill, and Mahomes to make it to the Super Bowl. Stafford is having the second best year of his career. He put up almost the same numbers as when he first became the dominant quarterback for the Detroit Lions in 2011. In both seasons he threw exactly forty-one touchdowns, 400 completions for 4,886 this year (5,038 in 2011), and in both years he ranked fifth amongst all quarterbacks in fantasy football.
It was the chemistry that he developed with Cooper Kupp that helped both of them, and this offense, become so explosive. The offense ranks second in passing touchdowns, fifth in pass yards, and fourth in red zone touchdowns in all the league. Cooper Kupp ranked first in both standard and regular and half point ppr, because of his almost-record breaking (12 shy) 145 receptions for 1,947 yards. Yes, he averaged 13.43 yards per catch, and got his record sixteen touchdowns in regular season. Kupp has somehow gotten better in the playoffs with thirty receptions for 386 yards and four touchdowns in just those three games alone. Including playoffs, Kupp has had 13 100+ yard games.
This isn’t college football where games are won solely on offensive performance though, and the Rams have a good defense. How good? Well this season they rank fifth at defending QBs, 12th at RBs, 11th at WRs, and in the last third of the season they rank fifth defending tight ends too. At home they give up less than 21 points to opposing teams, compared to Cincinnati’s 23 points. Furthermore, in the playoffs they are holding runners to less than 55 yards per game, and only giving up about 220 yards through the air. The acquisition of Von Miller certainly helped the Rams tighten up their defense. Now Miller will bring his veteran Super Bowl leadership to the squad who missed the 2018 Rams Loss to the Patriots.
Take the Rams on the money line and spread. They have a better defense, are playing at home, and are lead by Stafford and Kupp (who happens to be the best wide receiver this year). The Rams are 10-5Β and score an average of 26.4 points when they are favorited. The Rams have already got retribution for 2018’s Super Bowl against Tom Brady, now it is their time to win it.
