The biggest day on the football calendar is next Sunday, February 13th. Super Bowl LVI sees the Cincinnati Bengals take on the Los Angeles Rams in LA. We’re covering all of the main storylines, and helping you make all of the right bets, but there’s another topic that needs to be covered in regards to the game as well. That’s the Super Bowl prop bets, which started as a novelty, but have grown each year to become something that fans of the game, and even non-football fans alike, look forward to every year.
What will be the length of the national anthem? Will Snoop Dogg smoke anything onstage at the Halftime Show? What color Gatorade will the winning coach be drenched in after the game? All of these things in more have their own prop that you place a bet on with many of the top online bookmakers. Below we’re going to give you our top 10 Super Bowl Props for 2022, and do our best to pick the winners.
Mickey Guyton, pictured here at the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree lightning ceremony, will sing the National Anthem.
If we’re betting on the length of the anthem, it’s always smart to look into who will be singing it. This year it’s the multi-Grammy nominated artist Mickey Guyton. We’ve researched past performances and have actually found two recordings. The first came in right around 1:25 while the second just under 1:30.
Maybe she’ll change things up for the Super Bowl, or perhaps she’ll stay true to her last couple performances. Or perhaps like last year, someone will leak the performance time during the rehearsal. Unless that happens, I like the over for this bet, and wouldn’t be surprised to see Guyton with a little bit of vocal embellishment for her big Super Bowl performance.
-Dress Predominantly White +200
-Dress Predominantly Yellow +300
-Dress Predominantly Gold +300
-Dress Predominantly Blue +350
-Dress Predominantly Black +350
-Dress Predominantly Red +400
Guyton is a Texas native and currently lives in Nashville, but she did live in Los Angeles for a time. She moved out west after High School, and worked in the music industry there until 2011. The artist is 38 now, so with some math we can assume she lived in LA for round about ten years.
Although the Rams were in St. Louis until 2016, it’s possible Guyton will feel some attachment towards the team that now plays in her former city. If you follow that line of thinking the yellow dress at +300, or the blue dress at +350 seems like good odds from the best online betting sites.
Personally, my favorite prop bet this year revolves around Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart.
-Over -230
-Under +170
With Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, and Mary J. Blige all performing, what are the chances they all get two songs? Thatād put you at 10, and the over. Maybe they get one song a piece and a couple all together. That could be the under. I still like the over here with five big names performing.
-Mary J. Blige+175
-Kendrick Lamar+250
-Snoop Dogg+350
-Dr. Dre +500
-Eminem +600
It seems the sportsbooks expect Mary J. Blige to get the halftime party started with a classic before the rappers take over. However, Blige, like Eminem, is not a LA native. For that reason I like Kendrick Lamar to kick things off as he is the current torch bearer for the Los Angeles rap scene.
Both Snoop Dogg and and Dr. Dre are LA natives as well, so it’s not far fetched to think they could start the show as well.
-Yes +300
-No -450
Nothing like a prop bet on a potential prop. Snoop Dogg is known to love football, so one could pop up during a song of his or anyone else’s. I like the odds on yes at +300 from Football Bookmakers.
-Yes +190
-No -260
We just mentioned Snoop’s love of football. Snoop also has a quite a pension for mowing some grass, if you will. The devil’s lettuce has been legalized in California for quite some time, but the NFL brands itself as a family product, and I can’t imagine they’d be too happy with Snoop burning one down on their broadcast.
-Yes -180
-No +135
This wager strictly states that, “The sound must be intentionally cut or bleepedā during Eminem’s performance in order to pay out. Fans of Slim Shady know that few of his songs don’t use at least one word that would need to be bleeped from live TV. Although 49 year old Marshall Mathers has mellowed with age, yes still seems like the safe bet.
-No -2,000
-Yes +900
Personally, this is the top bet on the books for me. Everyone knows, or definitely should know, about the beautiful longtime close association between OG west coast rapper Snoop D O double G, and convicted felon/homemaker/TV personality Martha Stewart. These two even had their own cooking show on VH1! Is it possible’s Snoop’s “SWC” (Skinny White Chick, his nickname for Stewart) makes an appearance on stage of the Super Bowl Halftime Show. My brain says no, but my heart wants to scream yes.
-Teammates -125
-God/Jesus +225
-City +500
-Family +550
-Coach +750
-Owner +2,000
-None of the above +1,600
Betting on the Super Bowl MVP is so 2014. Real aficionados of the game bet on who the MVP will thanks first in his post game speech. History shows a QB is most likely to win the award so we’re looking at Mathew Stafford or Joe Burrow.
The Rams are currently the favorites so let’s take a second to think who Stafford could thank first. Perhaps he’ll go with the owner or coach of the Rams who finally broke him out of Detroit and brought him to a winning franchise? It wouldn’t surprise me if he thanked his wife first. The two are known to have a close relationship, and have both been through struggles of their own but fought through them together.
If Burrow hoists the MVP trophy, it’s not unlikely that the Ohio native could give thanks to the city of Cincinnati, whom would be receiving their first ever Lombardi trophy. For this bet, it really seems like every option is on the table.
If you know whatās inside here, thereās money to be made.
-Orange +210
-Lime/Green/Yellow +350
-Clear/Water +350
-Blue +400
-Red +500
-Purple +500
Blue Gatorade took home the prize last year for the second time in three years. Can Glacier (or is it Blue Cherry?) continue its dominance or will another flavor rain down over the winning coach? If you look back a little further you can see that Orange was the popular choice in five of the last 12 seasons. Also let’s be real, Orange gatorade just tastes better than Blue.
