Sunday concluded the halfway point of the NFL season. The game that brings us into the second half of the season is the 6-2 Ravens facing the 2-7 Dolphins in Miami. Thursday Night Football have been messy matchups with teams coming off of short-weeks. Thus, look for the Ravens and Dolphins to continue that trend. Baltimore Ravens at Miami Dolphins (+7.5)

Let me make this clear, I don’t think the Dolphins are going to win this game, especially without QB Tua Tagovailoa (game-time decision). However, the Ravens have proved time-and-time again that they will play to their opponents skill level. The Ravens barely won against the struggling Lions (0-8 record), Colts (4-5), and Vikings (3-5). Their two losses of the season are to the Raiders (by 6) and a blowout loss to the Bengals (by 24). Because of a short week of practice and preparation, don’t expect the Ravens to be as dominant as the Colts were to the Jets last week in TNF.

If the Ravens get into any trouble, look for Lamar Jackson to continue his MVP-esque performance on the field by slinging the ball to Andrews, Hollywood Brown, & Bateman. The running performance in Baltimore has been dismal due to early injuries, however Jackson can still get it done on his own to lead the Ravens from a come from behind victory to beat the Fins by a last minute touchdown or field goal…again.

Tua Tagovailoa is Game-Time Decision

The Dolphins have been bad this year, part of the issue is QB Tua Tagovailoa has been injured twice already this season. The Dolphins are significantly better when Tua plays. They won their first game of the season with him against New England, and lost by last second field goals in back to back weeks against the Jaguars and the Falcons. Even the game against the Bills was somewhat manageable under Tua compared to Brissett (a 15 point loss vs. a 30 point loss). Tua is a game-time decision. Therefore with Tua, the Dolphins have a chance at winning this game, or at least keeping it within one score. Without Tua, I have less confidence, however it could still be the Dolphins (+7.5) that pays out because of the Ravens lack of finishing strong.

Anytime Touchdown Scorers

TE Mike Gesicki (+180)

The Ravens are the second to worst team giving up fantasy points to TEs. Furthermore, the Ravens defense should be lackluster after a short week. Gesicki has received the targets no matter who was QB for the Dolphins, and with both Parker and Fuller on the injured reserve, expect Gesicki and Waddle to both have big games for the Fins.

WR Rashod Bateman (+350)

Bateman has not scored a touchdown yet, however the rookie first-round draft pick has only played three games. He has hit the ground running and had three flex-worthy outings all with over 6 targets. This could be the big game that scores him his first NFL TD against the Dolphins secondary that is 29th against WRs.
