This line is tight with Seattle currently favored to win on the road, but only by one point. This game is essentially a pick’em. I’m confident picking the Seahawks to win this game both against the spread and straight up. I would even suggest teasing the line up to 3.5 for +145 points.
One main reason that I’m so confident is that Washington’s highly touted defense from last season hasn’t really showed up this season. They’re the worst in the league at stopping opponents on 3rd down. Add to that Chase Young and Montez Sweat both being gone and I don’t see Russel Wilson and the Seahawks having major issues moving the ball up and down the field.
The Football team is giving up 6.7 points per game this season and only scoring 21.2. Their defense has been ok at stopping the run, but close to dead last in the league at defending the pass. If Russ is back to his old self and the coaching staff lets him cook, he should have no problem frying up the Football Team D through the air en route to a comfortable win.
This line could seem low to some, but to me I’m surprised the many online sportsbooks don’t have it listed lower. This isn’t the high flying Seahawks of old. In fact, in the games that Wilson has started this season they are only averaging 20.4 points per game. Heinicke and the Football Team have won their last two games while scoring 29 and 27 points. However, this is a team that has been incredibly inconsistent throughout the year and only combined for 33 points in their three games before that.
One thing stands out to me when looking back on Seahawk games and it is the fact that they’ve only hit the over in one game this entire season. Due to that and the other reasons listed above I’m guessing this trend stays the same and taking the under.
If you’re a Wilson fan, or just a fan of modern day football, it can be hard to watch the Seahawks play at times. They have a love affair with running the football even if it limits them. I don’t think it will in this game, and I see Alex Collins getting into the end zone for +130. Look to cash in and take Collins to score as well as the Seahawks winning for +300
Scary Terry has flashed during his second season in the league and everyone knows by now what this kid can do. His biggest problem has been inconsistent QB play. However, Heinicke is getting his act together and more catchable balls are going McLaurin’s way. I see the Washington playing from behind in this one and needing to throw the ball to win. McLaurin should see plenty of targets and definitely catch more than six of them.
