The first NFL postseason matchup of the year sees the up and coming Cincinnati Bengals host a Las Vegas Raiders squad that just barely made the playoffs and did so in dramatic fashion.

The Raiders are 5 point underdogs on the road and will have to slow down a potent Bengals offense that scored 75 combined points in weeks 16 and 17. Yes, Las Vegas is hot and coming in on a four game winning streak, but who did they beat before the big win against the Chargers? Drew Lock and Broncos, a Covid-adled Carson Wentz and the Colts, and the Nick Mullens led Browns.
The last time Las Vegas played a playoff caliber team they got tomahawked 48-9 by the Chiefs. Not to mention they’ve already played the Bengals once this year and were easily dispatched 32-13. Take the Bengals at minus five with any of our best bookmakers and don’t look back.
For the points in this game, I like the over at 48.5. We know the Bengals can run up a score, and they dropped 32 points on the Black and Silver when they first met back in November. The Bengals offense has only gotten better since then and David Carr along with Hunter Renfrow, Josh Jacobs and Darren Waller will do enough to put up points against a lackluster Bengals pass defense.
Speaking of Hunter Renfrow, take him as an anytime touchdown scorer at +180 at most sportsbooks. He’s become Derek Carr’s number one option on this offense and he will look to get his seventh TD in seven weeks against the Bengals.
Joe Burrow has come into his own down the stretch of his second NFL season. During Week’s 16 and 17 the LSU product threw for 525 and 446 yards respectively along with four passing TDs in each game. As we mentioned previous this Raiders defense gives up points and yards in chunks when they face playoff caliber teams. Burrow should have no problem having another comfortable outing in his first postseason appearance.
