Betfred Sportsbook & Casino Review 2024: Is it Legit?

The first thing you might notice is that Betfred has a very clean, almost simplistic style. The color scheme seemed plain to begin with, but once I had taken some time to explore the betting options, I found a very sophisticated sportsbook with a wealth of betting options available. And there is no need to fret over Betfred’s UK credentials; Betfred covers all the major American sporting leagues as well as those further afield. Lots of sports

As part of my Betfred review, I’ve been looking at both the range of sports that Betfred has on offer, and the type of bets as well. When you log into your Betfred account, the full list of sports is down the left hand side, while the main screen will show games or matches currently in play or due to start.

Betfred covers all the top leagues including, NFL and NCAAF, NBA and NCAAB, plus NHL, UCL and MLS. It also covers European soccer leagues such as the Spanish La Liga, the English Premier League, Germany’s Bundesliga and Italy’s Serie A and Serie B. There’s also golf, tennis, table tennis, boxing and MMA.

New customer bonuses

There are a few Betfred new customer offers, but by far the most attractive is the $1,111 sports bonus for CO, AZ, and IA players. Like the website, Betfred keeps the offer very simple and easy to understand. All you have to do is place your first bet, making sure it’s $50, and you’ll receive a $111 free bet in return. On top of that you will be subject to 50% returns of your net losses up to $200 per week (for 5 weeks) Oh, and there’s no Betfred promo code necessary!

Existing customer bonuses

We all know that new customer offers are designed to get us in the proverbial door, but I was surprised as part of my Betfred review to find that the offers for existing customers were just as enticing.  These change depending on the month and sports seasons, but to give you a flavor of what you might expect, here’s what Betfred offered in December.

The most interesting to me was the Parlay Insurance bonus, which gives you a $10 free bet. To qualify, all you need to do is place a Parlay bet of $50 or more. There is no restriction on the sport, only that it has minimum odds of -200. The best bit is that you can claim this every single day.

Another December free bet bonus offered a $5 free bet if you wagered $25 or more on a college basketball game. Again, you could claim this bonus every day. Turning to football, the Betfred Double Take bonus is focused on pro football games. Place a bet on who will be the first TD scorer, and if you get it right, Betfred will double your winnings if your chosen player scores another TD at any point during the game.

Registration

Registering with Betfred Sports is a stress-free process that can be done in just a few minutes. First of all, you want to make sure you are eligible to play. Betfred currently has licenses to operate in Colorado, Iowa and Pennsylvania, with more coming soon. If you are not located in these states, the system will be able to tell using nifty geolocation technology to determine precisely where you are.

Assuming you are located in an appropriate state and eligible to register, all you need to do is fill out a quick registration form with some basic information:

• Email
• Phone number
• Social Security number

Once you’ve done all that, simply create a unique username and password, pick some security questions, confirm your age and agree to the T&Cs, then you are off to the races.

Service

As you would expect from a modern day sportsbook, the Betfred platform is built on a responsive design, so you have the same user experience regardless of whether you are betting on a desktop, tablet or mobile screen. This was one area my Betfred rating dropped, as the site took significantly longer to load on both my iOS and Android device. However, Betfred does also offer a dedicated mobile app available for both operating systems, and it definitely improved my mobile experience – much like what I discovered in my recent LeoVegas review and Fanduel rating.

When you are suddenly faced with paying money to an online site, you may ask yourself, is Betfred legit? Not only is it 100% legitimate, with licenses from various game boards, but I discovered as part of my Betfred review that the sportsbook charges no additional fees on deposits or withdrawals, which went a long way to earning a good Betfred rating.

As it is a British company, I wasn’t expecting Betfred to offer any physical deposit and withdrawal options, so I was pleasantly surprised to discover that they do. Betfred has made in-roads with several brick and mortar casinos in the states that it operates in, which allow Betfred players to either pay in or withdraw funds as participating casino cages.

Mobile app

The mobile app builds upon the great user interface of the website by crafting a custom interface for mobile devices. It has everything the Betfred site does, but reorganized for a more enjoyable touchscreen experience – something that also boosted our recent Fubo Sportsbook rating.

Menu and design

The Betfred design is very clean, using white and the Betfred blue from the company’s logo, with sections of gray and a dash of red to make some options stand out more. It is a modern, minimalist look which emphasizes usability over pizzazz.

While I’ve praised the simplicity of Betfred’s sportbook layout and design, there are several smart features working in the background to make it a little bit more social.

First off, there’s the In-Play betting, which allows you to bet on a game or event in real time. Paired with this is the Trending Bet tool, which lets you see popular wagers that fellow players are betting on so that you can decide to join them or not.

The social aspects don’t end there. Betfred has a very active social media team on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, sharing news on upcoming sporting events, daily deals and Betfred bonus codes. They also have Facebook and Google integrated into their live chat tool, should you need to speak to the customer service team. If you can’t hand around to chat live, Betfred also offers telephone, email and text message options.
