When I first came across Jock MKT, it immediately became obvious that this was a site unlike any other in the known universe. Essentially, it’s a daily fantasy sports site as you’ve never seen it before.
As I’ll elaborate on and explain in detail throughout this Jock MKT review, this is an interesting operator for a number of reasons. Essentially, it turns each DFS contest into a stock exchange so that you can keep trading players until the final buzzer.
As I mentioned above, Jock MKT offers a unique take on the DFS concept by essentially turning it into a stock exchange. You can therefore bid for players before the game and then trade during it.
Once the game is all said and done, the players with the highest performing stats will have the biggest value. The advantage of being able to trade during the game is that you can stay in it longer. In a typical DFS contest, you’re stuck if one of your players gets injured early on – that’s not the case here.
It’s time to take a closer look at this planet and see what range of products is available to you at Jock MKT. First of all, I should inform you that at its core, Jock MKT is a DFS platform with a twist. While real cash prizes can be won, this technically isn’t a gambling site – meaning that no sports betting or online casino games are available here. If you are exclusively looking to explore the gambling galaxy, then we recommend our Prophet Exchange review as a good starting point.
Getting back to Jock MKT, let’s take a look at what makes this one of the most interesting and unique planets in our solar system. As I said before, it essentially turns fantasy sports into a stock exchange. So how does this work? For starters, there are two different ways to buy players and/or shares of players with your chips – IPO and live trading. So let’s take a look at how each of these concepts works below.
IPO stands for “Initial Player Offering”, and involves bidding for shares of players before the game starts. The IPO prices are updated at the speed of light in real time and close just before the game begins. The whole process basically functions the same as an auction, meaning that the shares of each player go to the highest bidders when the IPO market closes and the game starts.
As well as being able to bid for player shares before you blast off on each DFS mission, you can also make live trades during each game. As is the case with IPO prices, everything is updated in real time throughout the game. However, rather than being influenced by the players’ performances, the price changes are influenced by user activity throughout the contest. For most sports, the live trading market will be open throughout an entire game day, rather than a single game. For example, when playing fantasy football, you will be able to trade throughout an entire NFL Sunday.
So now we’ve reached what I imagine most of you will consider to be the most important part of our Jock MKT review mission so far – how to win money. Essentially, the aim of the game is for you to have shares in players that are worth more than the value that you bought them at. When purchasing and trading player shares, you will be able to view each player profile. Each player profile shows you how the player would have to perform in order to break even. Additionally, you will also see a number of other stats, including projected performance.
Jock MKT is definitely one of the most unique platforms in the DFS universe. However, uniqueness doesn’t always equal better gameplay, so how useful and advantageous is the Jock MKT platform? Personally, I quite liked it – and if you already have experience playing DFS games I think you will also like Jock MKT. Basically, the platform was built to address one major problem that can kill any DFS mission before it’s properly begun.
If we take fantasy football as an example and imagine we are playing a regular DFS contest during your average regular-season NFL game week. Now picture the scene, you’ve picked your team, the draft is closed and everything is locked in. The weekend’s first game is about to begin on Thursday night, and you hear Al Michaels announce that your quarterback is injured.
Effectively, the whole contest is ruined for you before it even begins. Your money’s gone, but more importantly, so is the actual excitement of the whole contest. The live trading element at Jock MKT eliminates that possibility of crushing disappointment, as it allows you to stay in the game.
In this section of our Jock MKT review, I’ll run you through the handling of this particular fantasy sports mothership. Jock MKT might offer a service that’s quite different from most other operators in the galaxy, but I’m pleased to inform you that their mission control team has done everything in their power to make it easy for you. Let’s take a look at each step below.
Like many modern DFS platforms in our solar system today, you have to download the Jock MKT mobile app in order to register an account and play. You can download the app via the Jock MKT website or by heading to the Apple App Store or Google Play. Once that’s done, the process of creating your account is simple and quicker than what many of you might have found in our Pulsz review here at PlayersBest.
As I briefly touched upon earlier in our Jock MKT review, the services provided here are available in 33 out of 50 US states. As far as I could tell, there are no restrictions in any of the available states in terms of what services you can actually access. The types of games available at Jock MKT can essentially be split into two main categories – market (ultimate flexibility as explained in the previous section of our Jock MKT review) and contest (closer to traditional DFS).
Of course, before you can blast off into the Jock MKT marketplace, you first need to fuel your engine. You can fund your Jock MKT account using your credit card, while withdrawals can only be made using an e-check. There is an awesome deposit bonus that you can claim at this stage without the need to enter a promo code.
As I told you previously in our Jock MKT review mission, not only is mobile play available here – it’s essential. While Jock MKT does have an excellent and very informative website, you are required to download the app in order to actually play. The mobile app works almost flawlessly and, more importantly, it’s one of the best-looking products in the galaxy!
Jock MKT is based in Boston, MA, and is currently licensed and available in a total of 33 states. In total, there are 35 states where DFS is legal, meaning that Jock MKT is still waiting on a license in just two – Missouri and Tennessee. For those of you who are unaware, daily fantasy sports licensing works differently from the casino cosmos.
That’s why in our Hollywood Casino review you will find fewer available states. There may be slightly different provisions for each available state, but I don’t have time to run you through the details of all 33 of them in this Jock MKT review. However, you can find state-by-state information on the Jock MKT website and in the app.
This is the section of our Jock MKT review that I would normally dedicate to the unique features that set the platform apart from its competitors. But as I’ve already established, just about everything that Jock MKT offers is unique as there’s nothing else quite like it in our known universe. What I will take a look at now are the two different playing styles – market and contest.
The market is the real unique product at Jock MKT and is what offers you the most flexible style of play. There is no set buy-in amount, meaning that you can trade players on the market no matter what your budget is. You can also be as passive or as active as you like when playing. For example, you can either buy, hold and wait, or you can dedicate the time to trading frequently.
When playing DFS contests at Jock MKT, you still have unique features such as IPO and active trading. However, there are also contest rules as well – much like you would find on a regular DFS platform. For example, the prize structure is fixed, as is the buy-in – meaning that every player starts with the same number of chips. Each contest also has a fixed end date, so you don’t have the freedom to cash out at will, unlike when playing on the market.
Jock MKT has a very helpful FAQ section that should serve to answer most of your basic inquiries. Additionally, you can get in touch with the team by using the support email. The one disappointment that I had with this section of my Jock MKT review is that there is no form of live chat or phone support available.
With that being said though, there’s not too much of a setback here, as Jock MKT is very active on the social media stratosphere. If you want a quick response from a human member of staff, you can DM them via Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. Additionally, you can also find Jock MKT on LinkedIn.
Being a DFS platform, stats are naturally integral to everything that goes on at Jock MKT. The player profiles contain stats related to the player’s actual sporting performance, as well as their price activity on the market and projected final price. You can also find a section of the website that is dedicated to the scoring for each sport. Here you can find how many points you get for each thing that a player does in each sport.
On the face of it, you might think that Jock MKT doesn’t sound much different from your average DFS platform. After all, you can play fantasy versions of most of your favorite sports, including football, hockey, basketball, PGA golf, and plenty more. However, there is a massive twist at Jock MKT.
Jock MKT has gone where no DFS platform has dared to go before and has truly decided to shake things up. Rather than running a regular DFS draft for each contest, Jock MKT has turned it into a marketplace, where you can buy shares in players at constantly fluctuating prices.
On the IPO market, you can bid for shares in players right up until the first game starts, with the highest bidders coming out on top in the end. The fun doesn’t stop when the game starts though, as the live trading market then opens so that you can trade player shares in-game, with user activity influencing the price.
The aim of the game at the end of the day is much like trading on the real stock market – you want your shares to be worth more than they were when you bought them. As well as being able to score points, players can also have points deducted – so players reducing in value is a very real risk!
If you want to play in a style that is completely different from regular DFS, then you can essentially treat fantasy as an open stock market. This means that you can buy shares with as little or as much as you like and you can choose to cash out at any point in the game.
If you choose to enter one of the fixed contests at Jock MKT, you will find that most of them are very similar to those you can play at your more traditional DFS platforms back on earth. However, the IPO and live trading stock-market-style purchasing systems still apply. For instance, all players are given the same budget and no cash out is available during a fixed contest.
Jock MKT is a daily fantasy sports platform that we can guarantee is unlike anything else that you have ever seen before. Take a look at our Jock MKT to see how it works and discover how you can download the app and register your account today.
In order to find out if Jock MKT is legal where you are, we recommend that you take a look at our review. We have covered the licensing and laws in all available US states and jurisdictions. All that you have to do is simply follow the link for more.
Discover exactly how payouts and withdrawals work at Jock MKT by consulting the expert review here at PlayersBest. All of our fantasy sports reviews are updated on a regular basis for you and contain relevant information that truly reflects your experience.
While there’s a lot that makes Jock MKT stand out from everything else in the fantasy sports universe, it all boils down to one thing for me – keeping the game going. Converting fantasy sports into a stock market offers a number of unique possibilities, but at the end of the day, it’s all about eliminating early disappointment. The fact that you can either trade on the market as freely as you like or apply it to traditional DFS contests is a great advantage as well. Overall, if you are a keen DFS player who has become bored with the status quo, then I would definitely recommend giving Jock MKT a shot.
