For starters, there are two different ways to buy players and/or shares of players with your chips – IPO and live trading. So let’s take a look at how each of these concepts works below.
IPO
IPO stands for “Initial Player Offering”, and involves bidding for shares of players before the game starts. The IPO prices are updated at the speed of light in real time and close just before the game begins. The whole process basically functions the same as an auction, meaning that the shares of each player go to the highest bidders when the IPO market closes and the game starts.
Live trading
As well as being able to bid for player shares before you blast off on each DFS mission, you can also make live trades during each game. As is the case with IPO prices, everything is updated in real time throughout the game. However, rather than being influenced by the players’ performances, the price changes are influenced by user activity throughout the contest. For most sports, the live trading market will be open throughout an entire game day, rather than a single game. For example, when playing fantasy football, you will be able to trade throughout an entire NFL Sunday.
How to win money
So now we’ve reached what I imagine most of you will consider to be the most important part of our Jock MKT review mission so far – how to win money. Essentially, the aim of the game is for you to have shares in players that are worth more than the value that you bought them at. When purchasing and trading player shares, you will be able to view each player profile. Each player profile shows you how the player would have to perform in order to break even. Additionally, you will also see a number of other stats, including projected performance.
Advantages – Is Jock MKT worthwhile?
Jock MKT is definitely one of the most unique platforms in the DFS universe. However, uniqueness doesn’t always equal better gameplay, so how useful and advantageous is the Jock MKT platform? Personally, I quite liked it – and if you already have experience playing DFS games I think you will also like Jock MKT. Basically, the platform was built to address one major problem that can kill any DFS mission before it’s properly begun.
If we take fantasy football as an example and imagine we are playing a regular DFS contest during your average regular-season NFL game week. Now picture the scene, you’ve picked your team, the draft is closed and everything is locked in. The weekend’s first game is about to begin on Thursday night, and you hear Al Michaels announce that your quarterback is injured.

What I will take a look at now are the two different playing styles – market and contest.
DFS market
The market is the real unique product at Jock MKT and is what offers you the most flexible style of play. There is no set buy-in amount, meaning that you can trade players on the market no matter what your budget is. You can also be as passive or as active as you like when playing. For example, you can either buy, hold and wait, or you can dedicate the time to trading frequently.
Contest
When playing DFS contests at Jock MKT, you still have unique features such as IPO and active trading. However, there are also contest rules as well – much like you would find on a regular DFS platform. For example, the prize structure is fixed, as is the buy-in – meaning that every player starts with the same number of chips. Each contest also has a fixed end date, so you don’t have the freedom to cash out at will, unlike when playing on the market.
