It won’t involve the same planning that it took to place a man on the moon, but there are a few mental hurdles to get over. Until you hit the translate option at the top of your screen (or at the bottom of your mobile device) this site will appear in Russian, and everything you see will not be in dollars, euros or pounds, but in rubles.
The immediate question is if all of this makes using a site with so much potential unnerving and impossible, so read on as we find the answer in the rest of this review.
Before we do that however, we need to take a look at a couple of key points in Zenitbet’s past
- 1998 Zenitbet is created
- 02/2005 Zenitbet.com is registered
- 17/11/2020 Zenitbet makes it’s first Instagram post promoting Spain vs. Germany in the nations league
- 12/07/2021 Players best test Zenitbet.com
As mentioned above, once you get over this initial culture shock, you’re likely to find it is not so alien after all. All you would expect from an operator is here, and dealt with comprehensively. We’ll look at each section in more detail later on, but here is an overview of what you can expect to find at Zenitbet.
This section is the main focus of the operator, and as you might expect, is immense. Practically every sport in the galaxy is covered here from ‘American’ football (the site is Russian, remember) to volleyball, and also includes sports you might not have thought you could place a wager on, like chess and the biathlon. You’ll also find politics nestled in there too, along with esports, with separate sections for cyber basketball, cyber soccer and cyber hockey.
The range is equally impressive in the live area, where events taking place are listed for quick reference. There is a broadcast to watch for some of the events not being shown elsewhere, although obviously there is the same lag factor involved that you will find with all operators.
These are games that you might have thought to find in either the table games or live casino area of other operators’ sites. The range on offer here include some of the more novelty games you can place a wager on. These include ‘rock, paper, scissors’ and ‘dice duel’.
There are even more games in the casino, starting off with a mind-boggling number of slots from a range of providers we’ll look at in more detail later on. All of the other boxes are ticked, as well with Blackjack, Roulette, Poker, Baccarat, Bingo and another section containing SicBo and HiLo. All of these have an option to play in demo mode if you are logged in.
The range here will vary according to the time of day, but all of the bases were covered for the same range of games we found in the casino. As you would expect, there is no option for playing in demo mode here so you can only place wagers for real money. It should also be mentioned that tote betting is also available, although there is not much focus on it.
As you would expect, this operator offers a bonus, but it was much smaller than we thought it might have been and nothing like you would get from using something like a Caesars Casino promo code. There is a 100% sportsbook deposit match for first deposits up to RUB 30,000.00. / 350.00 euros / 400.00 $. The maximum deposit receiving a 100% match in the casino area is lower at RUB 20,000.00. / 220.00 euros / 250.00 $. The rollover requirements appear to change frequently, so check back before making a deposit, and as always read the terms and conditions before signing up.
Before you can make a deposit though, you need to register using a phone number and a password to create your account. You are registering your details with BetZenit NV who are licensed and regulated by the government of Curacao and operate the website. After phone verification by number sent by text, you are next presented with a range of payment options.
These fall into the three categories of bank cards, internet payments and cryptocurrencies. The bank cards are, as you might expect, Visa & Mastercard. Internet payments include Webmoney, Perfect money, Ecopayz and Piastrix, which will almost certainly be new to you. The crypto currencies of Bitcoin and Ethereum will be more familiar, as might the third crypto option of Tether. All of these payments are commission free, except for cryptocurrency deposits which are subject to a fee based on the exchange rate.
It is also mentioned on the Zenit bet website that ‘encryption is used at the transport level – TLS 1.2 and at the application level using the AES algorithm with a key length of 256 bits’ which in layman’s terms, means transactions are secure.
You are able to sideload the mobile app directly from the Zenit bet website, which also includes detailed instructions for doing it safely. Currently, the app is only available for Android devices, which mirrors the compatibility of the desktop app with windows but not Mac. We found no explanation for why Apple devices have been neglected, or if this operator has plans to rectify the situation.
This is a shame, as the app reflects the website in ease of use, especially when getting around all of the options that this operator has to offer. If you don’t want to download the app, using the website on a mobile device is easily possible, but lacks the dedicated purpose of the app – so you might always feel like you’re getting second best.
By now, you will have realised that Zenit bet have all of the bases covered for whatever you might want. However, as we discovered in our Betstars review, with any site offering this many options, we also need to check that it wasn’t a case of too much choice. It wasn’t the case with Betstars, but we had to be sure with this operator too. To check this out, we looked at first the live betting in more detail, then the esports market.
A click on the menu at the top or side will give you an instant overview of the events in play There can either be broken down by sport, or you can just view the ones (about 50% at the time of this spot-check) that have video.
The markets we looked at in the Chinese football leagues were updated just as quickly as the clay court tennis. However, we did not have the opportunity to check this during a major live event to see how it would work when the number of bettors would be considerably higher.
Esports were also covered within live betting, and we observed market activity in the cybersoccer markets in both the leagues for FIFA 17 and FIFA 21. Outside of live betting, this operator had markets for over 200 other esports events. This attention to these two emerging markets would indicate that Zenit bet sees itself at the front of sportsbook innovation.
This however, does not seem to be reflected in social media output or interest, where their Instagram profile is posting to less than 2000 followers. Their VK (similar to Facebook) profile only has 2650 followers and with only 524 subscribers on Telegram, this Zenit bet review was surprised at these low numbers, considering what was on offer on the site.
While there is very little feedback on social media regarding Zenit bet, there is some online and it is not all positive. In fairness, though this has to be judged in the context of us not being unfamiliar with the operator in question.
After all, if you saw some negative feedback online about a casino or sportsbook you had used before, you wouldn’t necessarily start asking, for instance, ‘is Sugarhouse legit?. With this in mind, you might be wondering if it is valid to ask ‘is Zenit bet legit’? in this situation.
Something else that appears to be lacking is a FAQ area, and it seems that the operator thinks that the rather extensive terms and conditions will answer the majority of questions you are likely to have. You are more likely though, just to go straight to the support section where you have 6 methods to contact the operator.
You have the usual email and telephone options, plus the opportunity to contact them by Telegram, WhatsApp, Viber or their page on the VK platform we mentioned earlier. There is also an option to leave a suggestion, and while we were happy with the support options available, we would probably leave a suggestion to create an FAQ section
While your first impression might be that this site is from another universe, after that first contact, you’ll see many things that you’ll also find much closer to home. There are enough options here to have anybody orbiting the site for days checking them all out, but they are all carefully spaced out so that you are not likely to disappear down a black hole.
The attention given to the two emerging areas of live betting and esports show that even with the galaxy of options on offer, they have not rested on their laurels and are a constantly developing operator. If you wanted to be critical, you could point at the bonus as being a possible weak spot, but this does not eclipse any of the positives we found.
All in all, this Zenit bet review’s close encounter with this operator was a positive one, and could be an option for you if you are looking for something a bit different, and if you want absolutely everything under the sun in one place.
